Test Drive Final Balance, Safe Drive Courses and Gatherings:
The FMI SNQ Quad School recorded 120 subscribers on Saturday 15th October and 147 subscribers on Sunday 16th for the short theoretical and practical courses (for kids aged from 8 onwards) held by IGAST instructors (Instructor Environmental Guide Territorial Sport): an unprecedented boom of registrations, from Switzerland to Sicily.
Even the two-day courses on mini bikes for children aged 6-12 by Fabio Fasola registered a record attendance: 170 subscribers in one day on Saturday and 110 on Sunday, joined by 50 adults on Sunday attending the motorcycle course for adults, with two separate initiatives: on the one hand the “off-road” endure school with KTM EXC350, on the other the “highway” enduro school open to all those who had their own bikes.
The Land Rover Day, open to all owners of Land Rover cars, with the support of the coaching staff by the Italia Register, recorded 160 participants on Sunday for 45 subscribing teams who drove among Carrara’s spectacular quarrying sites, reaching 1.000 mt, visited the RAVACCIONE UNDERGROUND QUARRY and after a delicious food and wine tasting returned to 4x4Fest.
The Mitsubishi Day on Saturday, with the free quarry tour offered to off-road Mitsubishi owners by the Brands (including a lunch based on typical dishes’ tasting), reported the attendance of 100 members, while on Sunday 30 Mitsubishi vehicles owners joined the Corchia Tour.
FIF, The Italian Federation Off-Road Vehicles, organised on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 two special tours: the Carrara Quarries Tour, open to 4X4 vehicles owners and to passengers on board of the official FIF vehicles by Mitsubishi Italia driven by Federal School instructors, with private entrance inside “Fantiscritti” marble quarries, guided tour with local tour leader and food and wine stop at “La Stazione” to taste the typical “lardo” (cold cut) produced in Colonnata: 200 teams were registered on Saturday and 250 on Sunday. The second proposal, always by FIF, was the Tour of high Versilia-Corchia Quarries, with participation reserved to all off-road and all-wheel drive SUVs: a longer and more complex tour lasting 6 hours to discover the fascinating Corchia quarries (the largest karst complex placed at a height of 1500 mt, with a breathtaking view that in clear weather conditions, such as those registered on Sunday, allows to see up to the Corsica island): over 70 private cars shared this beautiful experience, with 30 off-road private Mitsubishi owners joining the group to confirm that the passion for 4×4 is still alive! Marco Pacini, President of FIF, is very pleased of these results, both for the extraordinary attendance to the gatherings and also for the positive response received by the FIF Village experience, organised for the first time in the framework of the Fair: “FIF Village is a winning bet: bringing in the Fair 14 territorial delegations of the most diverse regions that have made tourism promotion of their territory is the demonstration of the strength, compactness and capillarity the Off Road National Federation is capable of at a national level”.
Today, FIF has announced that the outdoor CarraraFiere racing area has been uninterruptedly busy for all three days, from morning to evening: in addition to the cars performances at particular times, the test drives of the cars made available by the Brands were completely sold out, as never happened in the past years: 23 different models were driving on the track at the same time on both Saturday and Sunday: the record of records!
On Saturday 15th Octorber and Sunday 16th October, the Sarzana Fuoristrada Club, in collaboration with UISP “Sport per Tutti”, organised at San Lazzaro, in Sarzana, the 3rd Racing Fun of Solidarity, a spectacular race of regularity and driving skills held on an open ground reserved to all-terrain vehicle owners for the following categories: petrol and diesel cars up and over 2000 cc, Preparations, Prototypes, Engine Motorcycles and UTV (Utility Task Vehicle). Great participation with riders from all over Italy and stunning motorcycle endure and motocross performances.
U.I.S.P. , the Motoring National League, Off Road Division and Sarzana Fuoristrada Club also recorded very successful results in terms of participating teams at the “3rd National Meeting 4×4 UISP from Valdimagra the Lunigiana”: an initiative reserved to all terrain vehicle owners along different routes with variable difficulty, which registered the attendance of 74 teams against the already numerous 71 recorded in the previous edition.
“Discovering the quarries”, organised by TTX Toscana Moto & 4X4 Experience in collaboration with CarraraFiere and ACSI MOTORS, on Sunday, 16th October enrolled fifteen motorcycles at a 85-km path, of which almost 80% offroad, on dirt roads heading to the quarries and partly wooded roads in a succession of breathtaking landscapes for a truly unforgettable experience.
